Gretchen Frederick

Gretchen Frederick started coaching at Mt. Baker in 1990, beginning what would become a long connection with the program. She also worked as the Office Assistant from 1996 to 1998, learning the day-to-day operations of the boathouse.

In 1999, Gretchen became the Director at Sammamish Rowing Association, guiding the organization through five years of growth and program development until 2004.

Her coaching path came full circle when she returned to Mt. Baker to lead the Varsity Girls program from 2023 to 2025, fostering a competitive and supportive team culture.

Today, Gretchen is now the Director of Rowing at Mt. Baker, continuing her commitment to building a strong, supportive, and successful rowing community.
